SMELL

We use our nose every day. Thanks to our nose we can smell and taste some things. Smelling and tasting often work together.

Besides, the nose is the main gate to the respiratory system.

We can smell things when they emit small molecules that we can't see, but that float in the air and go to our nose.

In the nose there are two holes called nostrills.

The nostrills are separated by a wall called the septum. The septum is made of cartilage.

 

Behind the nose there is a space called the nasal cavity. It is in the middle of your face.
