THE SENSE OF TASTE

The sense of taste consists of registering the taste and identifying certain substances in the saliva. The taste receptor apparatus is made up of the mouth, the taste buds, the tongue and the palate.
The tongue is covered with thousands of small bumps called papillae, which are visible to the naked eye. Within each papilla are hundreds of taste bud.

The sensation of taste includes four established basic tastes: sweet, sour, salty and bitter. Which are located in different parts of the tongue.

Other kind of taste are the combinations of these four major tastes.
