CHARACTERISTICS

The respiratory system is the group of organs that intervene breathing. This system is the in charge of the distribution of the oxigen in the body.
The organs that are in the respiratory system you can't found in every living thing in the same maner.
Some living things has the respiratory system by gills and others by lungs. The branchial respiration is more primitive than pulmonary. The respiratory system of the humans is with lungs and do 26.000 breaths daily when a baby do 51.000 in the day.


PARTS

This are the eleven parts of the respiratory system.
Organs: nostrils, nasal cavity, oral cavity, pharynx (the pharynx
participates in the digestive system to), larynx ( here you find the
vocal chords), epiglottis (is the resposible to close the mouth  while
the person eat), windpipe, bronchi, bronchioles, pulmonary alveoli and lung.













FUNCTIONS

The first function of the respiratory system is to get the medium gases and tranport the tissues that form the organism via the pulmonary alveoli, the expulsion of the gases of the body.
Provide the necessary oxigen so that the organ live. The repiratory system is responsible to transport the oxigen to the diferent organs of the body. Eliminate the carbon dioxide through the exhalation.
Filter and clean the oxigen.
