           CIRCULATORY SYSTEM


Function:
The circulatory system or cardiovascular system is an importan organ and system because permits trasporting the blood to all the organs and systems of the body, carrying things like nutrients, oxygen, carbon dioxide, (etc).

Parts:
These are the most important parts of the Circulatory system:
Heart: Pumps the blood to the arteries. It is divided in four parts: two atrium, and two ventricle.
Arteries: The trasport the blood from the heart to the organs and tissues.
Capillaries: They are small vessels where oxygen and nutriens are transported to the cells and get the waste from the cells.
Veins: The transport waste and carbon dioxide to the lungs.

Curiosities:
Arteries, veins and capillaries stretch more than 100.000 Km.
Approximately the human heart pumps 40.000.000 times in one year.
The animal with the lorgest heart is the blue whale.
The animal (insect), with the smallest heart is the wasp (0,2mm).
