VENUS FLYTRAP

Venus flytrap or Dionaea muscipula is a type of carnivorous plant.

This plant is small size and has from 4 to 7 leaves that develop a red color. Each leave has little cilium. This plant can grow 10 cm.



Is original from the East Cost of the United States, where the weather isn’t too extreme, although it can go down from zero degrees in winter. It lives in marshy areas with high wet.

This plant feeds of different types of insects of small size. It eat through the trap, this means the leave, that when detect an insect close itself automatically and through chemical substances that discompose it. It also absorbs the nutrients and then distributes them throughout the plant. The process takes approximately 10 days. Attracts insects because of its striking colors and its smell.

There are more than 625 species of carnivorous plants in the world. They can grow either under water, on their surface or on land.
