Wind farms

Wind farms

Hello I'm going to explain what are the wind farms.....

CHARACTERISTICS

  •    Wind farms and solar power stations transforms the wind and the Sun energy.
  •    A wind farm is a form for wind turbines transform the electric energy.
  •    To put a wind farm, first put vanes and anemometres unless the blades can not move.
  •    With that has put a compass installed in each wind turbine to indivate the direction and the speed.
  •    Europe has 140  wind turbines spanning 2,3 MW each.
  •    But the biggest wind farm is in Huelva with 383,8 MW in each turbine.
  •    And wind farms in Spain are in Castilla y Leon that are those who have a lot of power.

The rotor:
Is the set of blades of a windmill and it is the main part of eolic energy. The blades must be completely balanced and with an adapted form to cause max speed.

Control mechanisms and guidance:
It guides the rotor to indicate the direction. There are two types: Horizontal axis rotors and within these are the rotor downwind and upwind rotors. There are vertical axis rotors too.

Support structure:
It is the part that holds the windmill. It can be formed of any type of materials but these materials must be resistant to the weight of the mill.

Mini dictionary:

 Prairies : praderas,
Windmills : molinos de viento,
Blade : aspa,
Uneven : desigual,
Higher :superior,
Vane : veleta.
