Hydroelectricity

                                   The hydroelectricity

WHAT IS IT?

The hydroelectricity is a form of energy that has to do with water or H2o.It is obtained from the kinetic and potencial energy of the water stream, waterfalls or tides.

It is a renewable energy as long as the water cycle. Also in very few countries hydroelectricity is used to transform it into mechanical energy, but most of this energy is converted into electric energy to use lots of things that need electricity like mobile phones...

To transform it we use central or hydroelectric plants.

WHAT IS AN HYDROELECTRIC PLANT?

In an hydroelectric plant, water energy is used to transform it into electric energy.

The turbines can be:

Pelton:big jumps and small flows.

Francis:jumping smaller and higher flow.

Kaplan:very small and very large leap flow.

Propeller.

COMPONENTS  OF AN HYDROELECTRIC PLANT

The dam is responsible for holding water from the river.

The overflows of the water released is retained.

The destructive powers are used to prevent water power to produce large erosions in the field.

The teeth or cement prisms cause an increase in the turbulence and eddies.
