THERMAL ENERGY

I´m going to talk about the thermal energy :

Thermal energy is often referred to as heat. The thermal energy of matter depends on how fast the atoms or molecules are moving. The faster they are moving, the more thermal energy they possess. Therefore, the temperature of the matter would be higher.

Thermal energy is a form of kinetic energy, which is the energy due to motion .

The motion os thermal energy it usually not visible , but we can feel or see it effects . We use thermal energy to cook our food and heats our homes , and we use it to generate energy .

Thermal energy results in something having an internal temperature, and that temperature can be measured - for example, in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit on a thermometer. The faster the particles move within an object or system, the higher the temperature that is recorded.

EXAMPLES THERMAL ENERGY :

*A 12 ounce glass of water at 70 degrees has more thermal energy than a 12 ounce glass of water at 60 degrees.

*A grill gives off thermal energy by burning propane.

*Adding ice to a glass of water causes the temperature of the water to decrease because the thermal energy in the water causes the ice to melt.

*The sun's thermal energy heats our atmosphere.

*Thermal energy from a hot stove is transferred to a metal pot and causes the water molecules to move faster increasing the temperature of the water.
