THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM:

The circulatory system is one of the four systems and transports all the nutrients and the oxygen to our cells.

The heart is the principal organ in circulatory system and his principal function is pumps the blood around the body.
The blood is necesary to collect oxygen from the alveoli and the nutrients from small intestine and transport into the cells

The blood vessels are the tubes through the blood circulates. There are three types of blood vessels:
  1. Arteries
  2. Veins
  3. Capillaries.

THE BLOOD
Is a red liquid tissue made up of cells that are in a liquid called plasma.

There are 3 tipes of blood cells:
  1. The red blood cells: carry the oxygen.
  2. The white blood cells: remove bacteria and viruses from the blood.
  3. Platelets: form blood clots when a blood vessels break.

THE HEART
The heart uses systole and diastole movements to pump the blood around the body.
Blood enters the atria through veins and passes to the ventricles. Between the atria and ventricles, there are valves that prevent blood from flowing back to the atria.

The heart movements:

  • Systole: movement of contraction
  • Diastole:movement of relaxation
