In 1881, Alexander Graham Bell invented the first metal detector.

The metal detector is an electronic instrument whith sensors. This sensors are the ones that detect de metal.When its close to metal it beeps. The metal detector beeps because it produce an alternating magnetic field. This hapens when a piece of electrically conductive metal is close to the coil and this produces a magnetic field of its own.
This are some uses of the metal detector:

• The metal detector is used to find metal things. They can find metal objects underground. You can find treasures whith this if there are underground.

• They are used in airports too. When you pass under this machines they can detect if you have metal because is a metal detector.

•  You can used for security. You can see if anyone has a gun or a knife...  This tipe is often used for museums and that tipe of tings.

                                                      ¿How does it work?

• Its very easy to use the metal detector. You only have to put it on and past it on top the surface you want to detect if there is any metal.
