Electricity is produced is power stations and the transported power lines. There are differents types of power stations depending on the source of energy that they use. There are very differents types of electricity but I'm going to splain one of them. That is THERMAL:

Burn fuels. Combustion heats water that is converted into steam. Steam moves the turbine and generates ELECTRICITY.

Thermal power plants is a power plant where steam is used to drive a steam turbine. This turbine is connected the an electrical generator. After this, the water is condensed.
